Cost of ownership
Collaborative development environment.
In an economy, powered by information, it is imperative to not only share information but to ensure its availability at all times. This philosophy is paramount when we partner with you on a project, as information sharing between our project teams fuels sharing of ideas, possibilities, tracking, etc. Therefore, we mandate highly-effective communication systems for all our engagements, which steer the projects towards successful execution.
Employing various means of communication, we at Harvest, set up extensive tools to enable all project stakeholders to continuously create and share information, independent of location. This enhances the degree of transparency, clarity of communication on a project, and ensures a collaborative development environment with inputs from team members on both sides. We provide:
1. A knowledge base: As the first steps of a project, we set up a knowledge base to allow all stakeholders to collaborate and record discussions, specifications, source code modules and change notices.
2. Project Management tools: We work with BaseCamp to track milestones and distribute tasks, thus enhancing the communication on the project.
3. A continuous integration environment: On every project, we set up a continuous integration environment where in you get to see weekly increments on your projects. You can then review and comment on these.
4. A bug tracker: This tool enables project stakeholders on both sides to record issues, assign them to stakeholders for resolution and closure.
5. Email, telephone and instant messenger access: Customers receive email, telephone, and instant messaging access to all team members for clarifications and updates through development.
6. Web conferencing: On most projects, we have twice-a-week reviews and discussions with customers via web conferences. These bring in the benefits of voice and messenger communication, besides desktop sharing and co-browsing.
7. On-demand discussions: Our team is available for periodic discussions, with the frequency that is pre-decided by you at the time of project sign-off.
